After a challenging 2023, Daka’s 2024 annual report shows that the company is once again gaining financial momentum. With a positive bottom line and improved operations, Daka is in a stronger position – and the first months of 2025 confirm the trend: Daka is moving in the right direction.

The year 2024 marked a turning point for Daka. A modest but positive result and more efficient operations have strengthened the company’s foundation. This progress is the result of targeted efficiency measures and a sharper focus on customers across all business areas.
The first four months of 2025 confirm the positive development. With growth across the business, Daka has an optimistic outlook for the rest of the year.

Local investments
In 2024, a new unloading and wash facility was opened in Køge as part of the ReFood operations. This reduces both transport needs and CO₂ emissions – and strengthens Daka’s presence on Zealand.
At the same time, plans for a new biogas plant in Hedensted are progressing. The project is a collaboration with the Hedensted Bioenergi Suppliers’ Association and ADA Green Energy (Danish Agro and AURA), with local farmers involved as both suppliers and co-owners. Hedensted Municipality is currently evaluating the project’s environmental impact.

Challenging markets call for collective strength
2024 was marked by uncertainty and low prices for Daka’s end products such as protein, fertilizer, and biodiesel. This has increased the need for a strong, coordinated market strategy – a key focus area for Daka’s commercial team in close cooperation with the SARIA Group.
“We’re stronger because we work together – across Europe and in export markets. That’s crucial for securing sales and value from the animal by-products we handle,” says Jesper Verner Pedersen, Chief Commercial Officer at Daka.

Focus on people and future-proofing
Daka’s progress is not only about markets and technology – it’s also about people and relationships.
“Daka should be a great place to work. And we want to be a company people can count on – whether they’re customers, partners, or employees,” says Jesper Verner Pedersen.
Much of the 2024 progress is thanks to a strong team effort – across departments and locations. That momentum continues in 2025, as the organization keeps working to streamline operations, innovate, and strengthen customer relationships.
“We owe our employees a big thank-you for the dedication and energy that carried us through 2024. That drive and commitment are the foundation we’re building on in the year ahead,” Jesper Verner Pedersen concludes.
