Local Scouting creates community
Around 65 children and young people participate in Øster Snede Scouts. Scouting is about living in the outdoors, new experiences and developing together with others.
Our colleague Henrik Sjørslev is himself a scout leader in Øster Snede, and as he tells us, the scout life is much more than knots, fires and the smell of burnt bread buns:
"We let the scouts try it themselves, learn from each other, and collaborate in communities. There is room to fail and learn from what did not go as planned."
It is precisely this kind of local community life that Daka would like to support. That is why we contribute to the work of the scouts and the good facilities.
The association is run with the help of about 25 volunteers, and Dakas’ contribution helps keep the membership costs low and ensures equipment for activities, trips, and camps.
