Konvex in Sweden

Konvex is Daka's Swedish business, which contributes to circular utilisation
of animal by-products from agriculture and slaughterhouses.

Energy from by-products

Konvex converts animal production by-products into energy through the Biomal concept.

Biomal is a biofuel where the material is crushed and processed so that it can be used directly in energy plants for the production of heat and electricity.

This makes it possible to utilise by-products directly for energy purposes – without complex processing.

Operations and emergency preparedness

Konvex handles by-products from abattoirs and is part of the veterinary preparedness in Sweden in cooperation with authorities and veterinarians.

Collection in agriculture takes place through the fully owned company Svensk Lantbrukstjänst, which is responsible for the collection of fallen stock and transport for further processing. In that context, horse cremation is also an option.

From collection to fertiliser

By-products from agriculture and slaughterhouses are part of an integrated value chain across Konvex and Daka.

The associated Swedish company, Gyllebo Gödning, processes meat and bone meal from Daka SecAnim into fertiliser products such as Øgro for agriculture.

Thus, the nutrients of the by-products are returned to the soil.
