Game, slaughterhouse waste and animals with open wounds require special handling.

Monday to Friday: 07:00–15:00

Since the special collection is only made once a week in each region, prompt registration is important.

Late registration may mean that the animal has to be kept for a longer period, which increases the risk of infection and nuisance.

Collection days for special collections

Special collections are carried out on fixed days of the week depending on the region.

Jutland: Thursday
Funen: Wednesday
South Zealand and the islands: Tuesday
North Zealand: Thursday

Changes may occur in connection with public holidays.

When is special collection relevant?

Special collection is typically required for:

  • Game
  • By-products from home slaughter
  • Animals with injuries or open wounds, including those resulting from predator attacks.
  • Other situations where veterinary conditions require special handling and planning

Storage before collection

Fallen stock and animal by-products must be stored in accordance with legislation until collection to minimise the risk of disease transmission.
