Meat and bone meal for fertiliser
What is meat and bone meal?
Meat and bone meal is produced by processing animal by-products, where the raw material is separated into fat, water and meat and bone meal, all of which are recycled for new purposes.
Meat and bone meal for fertilizer is a Category 2 product and contains both protein and minerals, including phosphorus. The product is approved as a raw material for the production of organic fertilizer.
It is included in fertilizer solutions for organic, conventional and regenerative agriculture, as well as specialty crops such as Christmas trees.
Returning nutrients to agriculture
A large part of Daka's meat and bone meal is used at Gyllebo Gödning, which is owned in part by Swedish Konvex, an integrated part of Daka Denmark.
Here, the meat and bone meal is used in the production of organic fertilizer products, including Øgro. The nutrients from animal by-products are thus returned to agriculture as part of a new cycle.
