More than just a job

Working at Daka means being part of a daily life where professionalism, teamwork and responsibility go hand in hand. We carry out a socially critical task – and we do it properly.

Our job – in brief

Daka handles and processes animal by-products and recycles them for new applications in areas such as energy, feed and fertiliser.

The work is carried out as an integrated part of the food chain and under strict requirements for safety, documentation and operation.

A community in everyday work

Work at Daka is carried out collectively. The tasks are closely connected, and day-to-day life requires collaboration across disciplines, functions and locations.

It creates robust solutions and a work culture where people both contribute and learn from each other.

Different people. Shared workplace.

At Daka, people work with different professional backgrounds, experiences and backgrounds. We see this as a strength because different perspectives contribute to better collaboration and better solutions. We want a workplace where everyone is treated with respect and experiences equal opportunities to contribute and develop.

An assignment with significance

Daka's work is important for food production, security of supply and veterinary safety, and we are part of the overall emergency preparedness.

At the same time, recycling and the responsible use of resources are a prerequisite for the business. The circular perspective is built into our way of working – not an add-on.

Decency as a shared starting point

At Daka, there is a clear framework for how we work and how we treat each other. Our Code of Conduct sets a common standard for behaviour, accountability and ethics – internally and externally.

It is about making proper decisions in practice, even when the task is complex.

Development and well-being in practice

Wellbeing and development are worked on systematically at Daka as part of everyday life and operations.

This happens, among other things, through:

  • ongoing dialogue between employee and manager
  • follow-up on well-being and working environment
  • cross-business unit joint meeting forums and seminars
  • focus on retaining knowledge, experience and professional expertise over time

The ambition is a stable framework where employees can develop and want to stay.

Room for community – even outside of work

There is also room for informal community. Daka has an active staff association that arranges social activities and shared experiences for those who want to join.

It can be a sports day, events or other forms of social gathering. Participation is voluntary.

Locally rooted – and a good neighbour

Daka is locally rooted where our facilities are located. We have close relations with agriculture, salughterhouses and the local community, and place great emphasis on being a decent and responsible neighbour.

At the same time, we are part of the SARIA Group and are involved in a wider European collaboration – without losing focus on the local everyday life where the work is carried out.
